This was the best holiday vacation ever! Come to think of it, in just almost a month of vacation in Marinduque, there were already many things that happened.
Before Christmas eve, we had get-together with our relatives and cousins from my mom’s side. We spent it at Sunset Beach resort (It’s a newly opened resort in Gasan which is owned by one of my lola’s relatives. In fact, we’re the first to visit the resort so the owner gave us privilege to use the resort for FREE! Yes! Haha 😀 ). My mom was the event organizer of this get-together and she just assigned each of her sibling’s family what to bring. Actually, these are one of the things I admire in my mom’s side- they got unity in terms of celebration like this and even though this was almost abruptly planned.
In regards to the resort, I really like the ambiance of it. Though they have no swimming pools since it is mainly a beach resort, I must say that this resort is so appropriate to wedding reception venues, debuts, or reunions. You can even hold beach wedding here since it’s by the beach. I’m sorry that I was not able to take some pictures showing the place (because I was so busy enjoying it) but the next time we go there, I’ll make sure to make an exclusive review of it.
It was about 4 in the afternoon when we got home. We’re so tired that mom didn’t prepare that much for Christmas eve. She only cooked few dishes and then we prepare to attend the mass. The mass started at 10 and ended at 11. We only ate a little. Most of our foods were the left-overs from the get-together and given by my titas, titos, lolo and lola from papa’s side. It was unusual for me to sleep early every Christmas eve but since we’re all sleepy that time and we have to prepare early for our outing with my dad’s side tomorrow, we decided to sleep early.
December 26- I woke up 6:30 am to prepare for our overnight outing to Marinduque Hotspring Resort (formerly known as Susana Hot Spring) in Malbog, Buenavista. We arrived there at 9:30. If I’m not mistaken, this resort was already featured in “Kay Susan Tayo” (GMA’s TV program back then). The place was really good for outing and overnight stay. It has 4 swimming pools: one which is a hotspring, other that’s not, a private pool and a kiddie pool. It has also different rooms with aircon, cottages, snack bar and etc. I was not able to take much pictures because I’m busy learning how to swim (sorry about that though 😦 )
I was really happy spending those few moments with them especially with my 2 cousins who I’ve never met few years ago. 9 am of December 26 when we went home. All of us wanted to stay any longer but since tito and his family including kuya will travel back to Manila the next day, we really have to go home. 😦 But all of these celebrations, bonding, and reunions indeed made my vacation really great and awesome. I’m looking forward to bond with them again next time. These are some of the photos we had before they went back to Manila.
New Year’s Eve was the last from the list of celebrations before we have to go back to Manila on January 3 for the resume of classes. Mom started preparing at 3 in the afternoon. Me, tita Helen and tita Eden helped her. While the preparation was on going, a sudden brownout took place. It’s already beginning to eve and we need to finish cooking before the mass starts. It was really hard that time but thank God, after few hours the electricity were back. After the mass, we then went home for eating and karaoke session to wait for the New Year. It was really a sumptuous dinner and even though there were no firecrackers, it was so great to make noise with torotot, kaldero and etc. Hope to spend holiday vacation the next year here again. It was very fun indeed!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!
Hope you had great time spending it with your loved ones 😀
