It was later this May when I bumped into a site with an advertisement that caught my attention. The ad offers a day of free workshop for photography, make-up, surfing, dancing, scent-making and CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP! (The last word must be in all caps to emphasize my interest in that. Hahaha!) The mechanics is you just have to answer their question in the workshop you prefer to attend and if your answer will be luckily chosen, you can join then. Exciting, right? So after I’ve read the mechanics I immediately signed up on Ellips site to register. Everyday I was checking their Facebook page to see if there’s any post regarding the creative writing thingy. Though there’s none yet, I’ve seen pictures with the recent workshops that took place like hip hop dancing and scent-making. With that I’ve felt much excitement. May 11 when they finally posted the question I’ve been waiting for. Btw,here it is.
Pretty easy right? but pretty hard to think what to answer. To be honest, before I answer the question, I’ve been thinking hard for 4 days. I know it was a shame but I want my answer to be from the heart, from what my heart wants to say so. May 16 when I decided to finally post my answer. I’ve read all other comments and I’m really threatened at first that my answer will not be chosen but when I finally posted it, I somehow felt easiness.
After a few days of waiting for the result if I was chosen or not, that day finally came. I was on grocery store when I’ve received a message from Ellips representative congratulating me for passing and being able to join their creative writing workshop that will be held this coming May 24. She also said that I can let a girl friend accompany me. That time I wanted to scream but being inside the grocery I somehow felt ashamed so I just happily smiled. When I got home, I checked my fb and yahoo account to confirm the result so here are what I’ve found.
Yey! I’ve been chosen!!! My only problem that time was who will I let to join me? So I contacted Pat, she’s a long friend of mine and a fellow Philmarts workshopper. When she agreed to come I then send details about her to Ms. Bernabe to confirm her participation.
May 24 was my most anticipated day. Since this is our first time to go to Ayala I’ve already search beforehand what to ride to go there. We first rode jeep going to Quezon Ave. MRT station then rode the MRT bound to Ayala. 9 am was the start of workshop and it’s almost 9 when we arrived at the Ayala station. We still have to look where the Filipinas Heritage is. Ms. Bernabe was already calling and checking us. I was ashamed that we’re late.
After minutes of searching and inquiring, we already found it. The receptionist greeted us and asked us to come to 2nd floor. The ambiance of the place was really appropriate for writing workshops. It appeared to be the usual place to cover events like that since it’s very cozy and there were also many books there to read. I will not elaborate much. I’m just going to post pictures with captions. Btw, I don’t own any photos here so credits to Ellips for all of these.
